Now this is fucking cool. As one person commented on that website: It’s better than my hand writing.

Yep, I agree.
Saturday, January 31st, 2009Road Trip is just a week away!
Friday, January 30th, 2009Yah!
First there’s this: The coolest thing to ever happen. Ball One!
The Pirates finally said that Doug Mientkiewicz probably won’t be back next season. About fucking time. Basically all the casual Pirates fans were making a big deal about the Pirates not renewing his contract. It’s really sad that it seems most casual fans are more worried about keeping those washed up bench players like Mienty and a declining SS like Jack Wilson. Ironically none of them seem all that worried about all those draft picks they made last year.
Ok, road trip. I got the Tomtom ready. I got the bottles of pop. I’m gonna make a check list to make sure I take everything with me this time. I’m also gonna make a gas chart so that I know how much gas I use. Last summer I forgot my phone charger when I went to Pittsburgh. It looks like the weather’s gonna be good while I’m gone in both St. Louis and Dubuque. Next Sunday it’s supposed to be 50+ outside in St. Louis. Oh yeah!
Also, the post office is going broke. Oooh, big surprise. Let’s see here, I get all my bills online. If I want to send someone a letter, I use email. I know that it’ll actually be delivered and that it can’t be opened. I actually have a decent spam filter (google does, that is) and if I’m still getting junk mail, usually getting on mailing list somehow, I can usually filter it out myself and all that. Meanwhile, the regular mail, I only get a few real things from them every month. A lot of junk I just throw away. And other crap. I can imagine that in 10 or 15 years, the United States Postal Service will be even more obsolete. Maybe only delivering once a week and only delivering that which can’t be sent online.
Darn it, why aren’t you old?
Thursday, January 29th, 2009So apparently in the UK, if you’re in your mid-40′s and are taking care of your drug addicted daughter’s children, you’re just too old and social services will hand those kids over to an unrelated gay couple. Personally, I don’t care if gay couples are adopting children, especially if there is no where else for those kids to go. But that is really not the case here. These kids have a home, they have relatives who seem to be quite capable of raising kids looking after them. Why can’t the government leave them the hell alone? Of course they’re probably just trying to score points with the gay community.
Those garbage men won’t work for nothing.
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009But these restaurant workers did for one day. Giving tax money to the Big 3 Auto makers make me less likely to go buy a car from them. However, I would eat and tip big at this restaurant. I guess it’s just about having the right attitude, I get the feeling that nobody at GM does, but everyone who works at this restaurant does.
Weather check.
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009So I’m looking at the weather channel’s 10 day forecast and it says that my birthday will be sunny and 30-something with no chance of snow. Awesome. Now let’s see if they keep it that way for the next ten days. I’m skeptical that it will stay that way. I learned recently that the restaurant that had free birthday meals has ended that practice. So I guess I won’t stop there for lunch before I drive to St. Louis. Oh well, no big deal. I’ll just stop by Starbucks before I leave and pay too much for coffee.
In other news, I have decided to add a Favorite Posts section off to the right there. It was just another link category I added. I wanted to have a section I could go to and find my favorite entries through the years. So far I’ve thought of two. I’d have to look through and find some more.
Road Trip.
Monday, January 26th, 2009Just 11 days away. So the big plan is that on Friday, February 6th I will get in my car and drive to St. Louis and stay at a hotel, while there I will hang out with Jennie and her new guy for a few days. We will visit Anheuser-Busch and go to a Blues game and go to a Sonic Drive-In and just have a really good time. I was looking at the map of the places I’ve been and was thinking Kentucky is right there and I haven’t been there yet. I was thinking for a minute there is nothing there I wanna see, so it would consist of me diving in to Kentucky and then going to the next exit and turning around, which isn’t really worth it.
Then I remembered: Louisville Slugger. I looked up the Louisville Slugger museum and factory and it turns they do have tours this time of year. So I thought about this and figured that on Monday February 9th, I’ll leave St. Louis first thing in the morning, no later than 7:30 and drive over to Louisville. Go on the tour as soon as I can and drive back to Dubuque, should be back in Dubuque by 9:30 or 10:00 at night, if even that late.
Ian Freeman: Bill Clinton wasn’t a bad guy because he had sex. He was a bad guy by virtue of being president of the United States. Did I mention that Ian Freeman is my hero?
Will we for real?
Sunday, January 25th, 2009During yesterday’s fan Q&A session at Piratefest, some kid asked the Pirates management the following question:
I’m 9 years old. Will I ever see a winning baseball team?
To which the Pirates GM Neal Huntington replied:
Yes, you will.
Sure about half the teams in Major League Baseball have winning seasons. Oh, he meant a winning Pirates team. Hmmm…..well maybe in his life time. I dunno about mine…
Umm….yeah.
Saturday, January 24th, 2009Um, why buy that? Just go outside and run! Stupid product.
Also, CNN reporting on a guy who had to take a pizza delivery job until he found something better. I’m not entirely sure why it’s news. He found a better job, good for him. I bet he, like the guy from Hobgoblins, has a PhD in Security.
All done.
Saturday, January 24th, 2009Wow, I just spent the last 6 hours copying over everything from the old archives to the new one on Word Press. The archives is just crazy. i mean that’s a whole lot of archives there. I also finished the About page and put up a baseball game page. The about page just has a hastily thrown together history of this blog and website. The baseball games page just has a list of every Major League baseball game I’ve been to. Towards the end, I had trouble focusing on the task at hand and kept falling asleep. Oh well, that long task is finished and I’m happy about it.
In other clothing news….
Friday, January 23rd, 2009Wow, people are still complaining about the Republicans throwing money away on Sarah Palin’s campaign outfits. You think the Democrats would have liked that, it was money the Republicans didn’t spend on campaigning. I guess she doesn’t want them. She’s got some clothes at home she bought at Wal-Mart that are much more comfortable.
the clothes are “in the process” of being donated
Oh man, I tell ya, it is so hard to throw them in some garbage bags and drop them off at Good Will. That is just work, work, work. I mean, they should probably pay some intern $50,000 to take care of it.
