I’m just pissed off and excited.

Pissed off: I did my Federal and State Income Taxes. Would it be too much to ask that the Federal Government and the State of Iowa actually make these tax forms understandable to the average person? They keep using vague and ambiguous terms that could mean anything and nothing. State Governments have demanded that cell phone companies make less confusing statements. I ask the government to make a less confusing tax form. Or just dump income taxes across the board. Get rid of all of them. If we did that, we’d be able to fund the same government we had in 1999.

Excited: iPad. Technology is way cool. I mean, sure it’s just a giant iPod Touch with just more features and a bigger screen. But it’s very cool that something so powerful could be made so small and thin and light weight. Remember ten years ago when computer screens weighed a ton and would bend desks because they were so heavy and gigantic. Now my screen on my laptop might weigh 1/2 a pound. I dunno. Everything just keeps getting better and easier to use. Especially if you’re not using Windows. But I’m not buying one. I have a laptop and an iPod Touch and that’s plenty good for now.

Pissed off: State of the Union. Ya know, I’m too busy playing WoW to actually watch it. I heard they moved it to accommodate Lost. Hehehe. It reminds me of those ABC guys who thought it was horrible that Monday Night Football would preempt Bewitched back in the early 70′s. So yeah, if you want a reason to be pissed off at that whole thing, read Anthony Gregory’s take on it. He’s awesome.

UPDATE 11:50 PM: Also props to Judge Andrew Napolitano for pointing out why Samuel Alito was justified in mouthing “That’s not true.” during the State of the Union. At least he didn’t yell out “You Lie!” like an idiot.

Excited: Baseball Prospectus annual PECOTA projections came out today and they have the Pirates projected to win 70 games! Now that’s progress. Of course, PECOTA isn’t a guarantee of anything. I mean the same projections have no team getting above 90 wins outside the AL East and the Nationals winning 82 while the Marlins are in last place. Also last season, they gave the Cubs a 62% chance of making the playoffs while the Cards and Rockies had 18% and 14% respectively.

I just wonder if they win 70 or even 75, would people like Smizik and Chass see the Pirates making progress or would they still write their little bitch-fest columns on how the Pirates aren’t spending money.

First of 2010…

Oh yeah, I kinda forgot about the blog. Um. stuff happened, mostly WoW playing and ummm..yeah.

On New Year’s eve while playing WoW, my computer started making a loud buzzing noise that vibrated the computer and it was kind of scary. I put it to sleep and put it aside for a few minutes. It stopped making the noise, but it’s had a weird almost grinding type noise since then. Then today and tonight it made the big loud buzzing noise again. Both times, I put it in sleep mode, waited a few minutes and started it up again. It’s very annoying and kinda scary. I might have to haul it up to Madison to get the Mac store to take a look at it and fix it. I don’t have the extended warranty so if cost a lot to fix it, I might have been better off getting the warranty. Oh well. My fault, I should have gotten it when I bought the dang thing.

I also went to see Avatar tonight finally. I had sort of planned on seeing it for the past two weeks, but holiday and work stuff came up. Last week, I wanted to try to go there on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night and all three nights I didn’t get done early enough to shower and drive in. If I had known there would be so many ads, I probably could have seen it earlier. I wasn’t going to go there on a Friday or Saturday night. Sunday or Monday nights are probably the best nights to see movies. Only people who want to see the movie show up on those nights. Friday and Saturday you get a lot of annoying people there. Those people stay home on Sunday night, it seems.

As for Avatar, it’s an amazing visual movie. There’s lots of stuff in it. The best way to see it is in 3-D (if there’s no I-Max near by). I’m a glasses guy and I think today was the first time where I wished I had contacts, it would have made watching the movie easier. But after a while I had forgot that I had two pairs of glasses on. I tried it without the regular glasses and it was blurry. So yeah, if you got contacts and are seeing the 3D, make sure you wear them instead of glasses. Or just get laser vision correctness before you go see the 3D version….

I haven’t played WoW yet tonight and it’s still making loud noises. I’m thinking I might have to call up the Madison Apple Store and see about getting it repaired. Typical. I finally get some money from the health insurance thing and I’ll have to spend it or at least some of it.

So June is coming up soon and stuff. I need to get my favorite sister a birthday present. I forgot to budget it in to May so since her birthday is on May 31st, I could just buy it on June 1st and send it her way to St. Louis and just say I bought it on the 31st. Yeah. That’ll work out really cool.

In other news, farmer tan is progressing nicely. The back of my neck turned red (I might be a redneck) and my arms are redder than they were before. This is all probably the result of me driving an old fashion tractor without a cab (I know, crazy fucking times back then) and pushing the little lawn mower around and getting the grass that can’t be reached by riding mower. Summer is finally here, I mean the windows in my room are open and I can sit here shirtless and not freeze to death, unlike when it was -15 F out and stuff.

Ok, so I was thinking I should get an iPhone for a while now. But then I realized several things. 1. I like US Cellular. A lot. They’re awesome.  2. They don’t have iPhones.  3. Tits are cool.  4. There are perfectly good phones sold by US Cellular.  5. iPod Touch someday, just as good, but not a phone and thus no monthly bill.  6. I don’t wanna change providers and have to actually pay for my phone bill. Keep having Jesse pay for it.

So I was looking through the phones offered by US Cellular and the one I’m thinking of getting is the Samsung Delve which has touch screen, web browser and qwerty keyboard. Pretty much everything I want without the price of an iPhone nor the having to switch to AT&T. Also someone told me to look at Samsung Banter which has no touch screen, nor web browser. I’m only gonna look because I told her I would. But I’m probably gonna go with a Delve.

Game 1, Last night. Cardinals 9, Pirates 3. Deep hurting. The Cardinals just owned the Pirates last night. It was frustrating and depressing. Ian Snell was awful and so was Donnie Veal. Craig Hansen was better than he was last year.

Game 2, Tonight. Pirates 7, Cardinals 4. Oh yeah, that felt pretty good. The Pirates took an early 4-1 lead on a bunch of hits and some walks. Shit, I don’t remember. Then there was a nice 2 run home run by Mr. McLouth. Zach Duke finally won a game that I went to. He almost seemed like a completely different guy, of course the shaved head doesn’t hurt.

Other stuff: went on the Busch Stadium tour, again. Was sure to correct the tour guide on it not being just the Yankees and Cardinals to open a stadium with a World Series win. Pirates did in 1909 at Forbes Field. We went to the Apple Store. It was ok, but very small compared to the other ones I’ve been to. Drury Inn here has free beer. I got my three free beers this afternoon. I like to top off my beer drinking with another beer. :-) It’s like dessert!

I love Mythbusters. It seems like most of the movie myths they bust have Keanu Reeves in the movies.

Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard

I want one.
